Housekeeper

About the position

The Housekeeper at Brenham Nursing & Rehab Center is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within the facility. This role involves performing various housekeeping duties to ensure a tidy and welcoming environment for residents, under the supervision of the housekeeping supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, buff, strip, wash, and shampoo floor surfaces.
• Clean and dust furniture, closets, telephone areas, and vents.
• Scour, polish, and sanitize sinks, counters, stainless steel surfaces, and waste receptacles.
• Empty waste receptacles and clean solid waste containers, transporting medical waste as directed.
• Use room deodorizer as necessary.
• Ensure paper supplies are always available.
• Wash windows and walls, including removing draperies and rugs as directed.
• Gather and return needed cleaning supplies and equipment daily to support rooms as directed.
• Follow OSHA Standards for handling infectious waste.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a housekeeper or janitor preferred, but not required.
