About the position

The HR and Operations Manager at BURDLIFE is responsible for leading the human resources and operational functions of the jewelry store. This role involves strategic planning, people management, and operational excellence, with a focus on ensuring seamless operations across multiple store locations. The position offers opportunities for growth from part-time to full-time as the business expands, making it ideal for adaptable and organized leaders with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training processes across all store locations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, employee handbooks, and performance evaluation systems.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to foster employee growth.
  • Travel between store locations to address employee relations, provide on-site support, and promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Manage staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage during peak hours and special events.
  • Resolve workplace issues, grievances, and conflicts with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Identify and implement training opportunities to support employees' professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies across all locations.
  • Oversee daily store operations, ensuring efficiency and consistency across locations.
  • Travel to store locations to monitor inventory, improve performance, and provide operational guidance.
  • Develop and implement standardized operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure stores meet brand standards for visual appeal, organization, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
  • Plan and execute in-store events, promotions, and campaigns.
  • Maintain vendor relationships to ensure the timely delivery of products and supplies.
  • Analyze operational data and prepare reports on sales, productivity, and other performance metrics.
  • Troubleshoot operational challenges and implement effective solutions on-site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR and/or operations management, preferably in retail.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and multi-location operations.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and operational procedures.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly between store locations.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with POS systems.
