About the position

The HR Coordinator, Benefits and HRIS at YMCA of Greater Seattle plays a crucial role in supporting the benefits administration and HRIS functions. This position serves as the first point of contact for benefits inquiries, providing high-quality customer service to employees and assisting with enrollment processes. The coordinator will also maintain employee records in the HRIS system and support various HR initiatives, ensuring efficient operations within the HR department.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for benefit enrollment questions, responding to calls and emails from employees.
  • Ensure all benefit enrollments and changes are accurately entered in payroll.
  • Process tasks related to qualifying life events in the employee benefit system, including communication with employees and document approval.
  • Provide suggestions for continuous improvement in benefit administration processes.
  • Maintain all benefits files and keep the company intranet updated with current benefits information.
  • Have a general understanding of COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, PPACA, and other benefit-related laws.
  • Administer the ORCA Card benefit program.
  • Support Employee Service team project initiatives to enhance processes.
  • Provide back-up support to the Benefit Specialist and HRIS Administrator during high volume periods.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of related experience in HR or benefits administration.
  • Knowledge of HRIS databases and ability to create processes for efficiency.
  • Strong written, verbal, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • Administration experience for large companies or non-profits.
  • Previous experience with HRIS systems, preferably UKG (Ultipro).
