About the position

The HR Coordinator, Benefits and HRIS at YMCA of Greater Seattle plays a crucial role in supporting the benefits administration and HRIS functions. This position serves as the first point of contact for benefits inquiries, providing high-quality customer service to employees and assisting with enrollment processes. The coordinator will also support the HRIS by maintaining employee records and generating reports, ensuring efficient operations within the HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for benefit enrollment questions.
  • Respond to calls and emails from employees requesting assistance through the benefits ticketing system.
  • Ensure all benefit enrollments and changes are entered appropriately in payroll.
  • Process tasks in the employee benefit system related to qualifying life events.
  • Provide suggestions for continuous improvement in the benefit administration processes.
  • Maintain all benefits files and keep the company intranet updated with current benefits information.
  • Administer the ORCA Card benefit program.
  • Support Employee Service team project initiatives to enhance processes.
  • Provide back-up support to the Benefit Specialist and HRIS Administrator as needed.
  • Enter, update, and maintain employee records in the HRIS system.
  • Assist the HRIS administrator in generating or updating standard reports from the HRIS system.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of related experience in HR or benefits administration.
  • Knowledge of HRIS databases and benefit-related laws such as COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and PPACA.
  • Strong written, verbal, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • Administration experience for large companies or non-profits.
  • Previous experience with HRIS system, preferably UKG (Ultipro).
