The Human Resource (HR) Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing all HR activities for assigned locations or functional areas within the company. This position is responsible for implementing HR strategies, analyzing business information, and leading HR and business initiatives. The HR Manager engages in employee relations issues, collaborates with Talent Acquisition (TA) on staffing and selection, oversees community outreach, supports employee development activities, and manages programs, policies, and procedures that align with the company's culture. The HR Manager is expected to anticipate business needs, think proactively, and respond quickly, appropriately, and professionally to various HR challenges. As the subject-matter expert in HR for the assigned location(s) or functional area, the HR Manager is tasked with ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws while fostering a positive work environment. In this role, the HR Manager will collaborate with local leadership on HR decisions, ensuring the effective delivery of HR processes, procedures, and policies. The position requires cross-functional collaboration with all HR functions, including Compensation, Compliance, Capabilities, Leaves, Legal, Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Benefits, and Labor teams. The HR Manager will evaluate current and potential HR issues or needs and deliver strategic responses, partner with local business partners on workforce planning and staffing needs, and engage in HR Workstream projects. Additionally, the HR Manager will coordinate community outreach and employee engagement initiatives, mediate difficult employee relations issues, and lead Talent Management and Employee/Leadership Development training. The HR Manager will also manage the mid-year and annual Performance Evaluation and Compensation processes, communicate benefit-related changes, and assist employees with inquiries regarding benefits. The role includes managing the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) in collaboration with Compliance and TA teams, measuring HR performance using the HR Scorecard, and maintaining positive employee relations in a union environment. The HR Manager may also manage HR team members and undertake other projects or duties as assigned.
