About the position

The HR/Payroll Benefits Coordinator is responsible for managing benefits administration, maintaining personnel files, and assisting in employee relations within a healthcare setting. This role involves ensuring compliance with EEO regulations, supporting staffing needs, and facilitating the onboarding process for new hires. The coordinator will also assist employees with payroll inquiries and maintain accurate HRIS records.

Responsibilities

  • Perform benefits administration and maintain personnel files.
  • Assist in employee relations and ensure compliance with EEO regulations.
  • Maintain HRIS records and generate reports.
  • Ensure adequate staffing of the nursing department based on budget and census.
  • Establish orientation schedules for new hires.
  • Assist with recruitment, scheduling interviews, and hiring new staff.
  • Provide information to employees regarding paychecks, deductions, and overtime.
  • Prepare payroll data for computer input.
  • Communicate HR, Payroll, and Staffing concerns to supervisors promptly.
  • Answer employee calls regarding scheduling issues and prepare written correspondence.
  • Maintain daily tardy and absenteeism calendars for performance appraisals.
  • Work with the Director of Nursing Services on modified work duty scheduling.
  • Complete and update nursing department employee records and certifications.
  • Coordinate interviews and answer applicant calls regarding position availability.
  • Facilitate quality orientation programs for newly hired nursing personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Human Resources and Payroll practices required.
  • Experience in an HR role within a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to create a positive work environment.
