About the position

The Human Resources team at Nomura partners with various businesses to provide a consistent global approach to people management while ensuring local ownership and delivery. A key focus is on managing people risk across the organization, promoting integrity, fairness, transparency, and accountability. The Global People Analytics team plays a crucial role in this by utilizing a wide range of data to deliver management information that offers insights into people performance and associated risks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong working relationships with HR specialists and analytics colleagues regionally and globally to enhance reporting functionality and delivery of insights.
  • Collaborate with local colleagues to understand nuances of HR reporting and data usage.
  • Provide creative and proactive people analytics and related metrics, constructing analytical tools (e.g., dashboards) for HR Advisors and business managers.
  • Support the development of People Analytics datasets from underlying HR source systems and other related data sources.
  • Provide support, reporting, and insight on various monthly and ad-hoc HR processes, identifying opportunities for consolidation across different requests.
  • Conduct ad hoc analytics and reporting related to various HR processes and workforce, including headcount reporting, attrition analytics, new hire data requests, diversity analytics, compensation analytics, and periodic reporting of key hires and leavers.

Requirements

  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing plans and priorities.
  • Experience with project work or managing processes.
  • Strong planning, organizing, and reviewing skills.
  • Decision-making and influencing skills.
  • Strong critical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Excel and Macros.
  • Experience with PowerPoint.
  • Experience in creating visualizations and dashboards using BI tools (particularly Tableau or Power BI).
  • Experience with Python programming, machine learning, and predictive modeling preferred.
  • Familiarity with Alteryx or SQL preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with SuccessFactors preferred but not required.

  • Experience working with IT and understanding downstream effects.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive data.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Initiative in developing new projects to improve working methods and solve issues.
