About the position

The Human Resource Specialist will support the daily operations of the HR team at ColumbiaDoctors Medical Group, assisting in the hiring process and managing various HR functions. This role requires attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle confidential information effectively.

Responsibilities

• Organize and conduct new employee orientations and track employee progress within the onboarding process.
• Process all onboarding paperwork for new hires and separation paperwork for terminated employees.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date employee and HR files.
• Maintain HR databases to review, input and keep track of employee information.
• Process benefits enrollments, changes and terminations; prepare COBRA paperwork.
• Maintain recruiting database, post job openings and schedule interviews.
• Prepare leave of absence paperwork and complete applicable claim forms; track all LOA requests including FMLA, Paid Family Leave and Disability.
• Reconcile monthly carrier invoices.
• Assist with payroll processes.
• Answer employee questions about company policies, HR regulations and benefits.
• Assist with annual open enrollment.

Requirements

• 3+ years Human Resources experience required.
• High School diploma; degree in HR or relevant fields preferred.
• General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
• High ethical standards and ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Positive outlook with great interpersonal skills.
• Must be organized, detail-oriented and have exceptional follow up/follow through skills.
• Light payroll experience preferred.
