About the position

The Tantasqua Regional School District and School Union 61 is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Benefits Coordinator/Administrative Assistant to the Business & Finance Director. This position is crucial in providing comprehensive human resource support across eight schools within the district. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing leave administration, benefit enrollment, and maintaining the staffing form dictionary. This role also involves acting as a liaison with various insurance companies, including health, dental, workers' compensation, and student insurance providers. The coordinator will assist the Business Office staff with payroll and accounts payable operations as needed, ensuring smooth financial operations within the district. In addition to human resources responsibilities, the coordinator will support the Business & Finance Director in budget and contract preparation, as well as daily administrative operations of the Business Office. This includes maintaining quality personnel documentation, supporting the staff onboarding process, and assisting with liability insurance and risk management processes. The coordinator will also help current and former staff navigate healthcare benefits, manage worker compensation cases, and collaborate with district and building-based administrators as required. The role requires a strong understanding of human resource legal requirements and protocols, as well as knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, and revenue processing. The coordinator will also be responsible for developing and maintaining reports for the central office and assisting with purchasing processes, including requests for quotes and bid preparation. Confidentiality regarding student and staff information is paramount in this position, and the coordinator must demonstrate computer literacy, particularly with Google and Windows-based software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Human Resource support for eight schools, including leave administration and benefit enrollment.
  • Act as a liaison with health, dental, workers compensation, and student insurance companies.
  • Assist Business Office staff with payroll and accounts payable operations when necessary or requested.
  • Assist Business & Finance Director with budget and contract preparation; support Business Office daily administrative operations.
  • Support quality personnel documentation maintenance including demographics, compensation, and benefits.
  • Support staff onboarding process.
  • Support liability insurance and risk management processes.
  • Support current and former staff navigation of healthcare benefits, including offering knowledge, enrollment (new/updates), complaint management, and problem solving.
  • Support worker compensation case management.
  • Work with all district and building-based administrators as needed and/or requested.
  • Provide administrative assistance for the entirety of Business Office personnel.
  • Assist Director with reporting for budget preparation.
  • Develop and maintain reports as needed for central office.
  • Assist with purchasing processes including requests for quotes and bid preparation.
  • Maintain student and staff confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Human Resource Certification(s) or applicable work experience.
  • Ability to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
  • Approved Fingerprint and CORI Background results.
