About the position

The Compensation & Benefits Associate at LWCC will support the management and administration of employee benefits and compensation programs while assisting with payroll preparation. This role is crucial in ensuring that employees are well-informed about their benefits and that all related processes are handled efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct benefits orientation for new employees, guiding them through enrollment in eligible benefit programs.
  • Accurately enter and update benefit enrollments, status changes, and terminations within the HRIS and payroll.
  • Manage all aspects of COBRA, including timely mailing of required notices, processing elections, and handling payments.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of communications regarding benefits, including open enrollment and changes to existing plans.
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to benefit plans and claims resolution, maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Support the administration of the 401(k) plan, overseeing elections, contributions, distributions, and reporting.
  • Maintain and administer employee workers' compensation claims, partnering with external vendors for resolution.
  • Administer employee leave programs by tracking, processing, and ensuring timely submission of necessary forms.
  • Assist in the coordination and accuracy of Form 5500 filings to ensure compliance and reporting requirements are met.
  • Maintain compliance with ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA standards and requirements.
  • Reconcile and process all benefit invoices in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the payroll team to ensure accurate processing of wages and benefit deductions.
  • Participate in salary surveys to assess the organization's competitive position in the market.
  • Keep abreast of the latest compensation and benefits regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Oversee the accuracy and flow of data within the HRIS to ensure reliable information management.
  • Keep employee records current and ensure that all required new hire documentation is accurately completed and filed.
  • Monitor compliance with training, continuing education, professional licenses, and certifications.
  • Manage the employee recognition program to celebrate achievements and foster a positive workplace culture.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with some college level coursework in accounting and/or business is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of human resources experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • One year in benefits/compensation related position required.
  • Beginner knowledge of labor laws and regulations is necessary.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management, business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
