About the position

The Human Resources Coordinator position at First Legal involves providing comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources Department. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage various HR functions, maintain confidentiality, and ensure compliance with state laws. The coordinator will handle tasks such as processing new hire and termination paperwork, conducting exit interviews, and managing employee benefits requests.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Department of Human Resources including data entry, filing, and spreadsheets.
  • Complete background checks and process new hire paperwork.
  • Process all termination paperwork and prepare responses to EDD, SDI, and PFL claims.
  • Create reports of new hires and terminations for review.
  • Conduct exit interviews and create employee separation trend analysis reports.
  • Collect and prepare FMLA, CFRA, and PFL requests for review.
  • Respond to verification of employment requests.
  • Track and audit vacation and sick requests.
  • Assist with Workers' Compensation and Incident Report claims.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a similar field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Human Resources related field.
  • 3 years of previous experience as a project coordinator, business analyst, or similar role.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint).
  • Professional level writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.

Nice-to-haves

  • QuickBooks proficiency is a plus.
