About the position

Hallmark Aviation Services is seeking a Human Resources Manager to oversee HR functions at the San Francisco Airport. This role is crucial in managing the HR operations for a team of over 3000 employees who provide exceptional customer service for leading international and domestic airlines. The HR Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies, airport ordinances, and federal, state, and local laws. The position requires a strong focus on communication and interpersonal skills, as the HR Manager will interact with various stakeholders, including employees, management, and external partners. The HR Manager will coordinate daily HR operations, including recruiting, screening, interviewing, and hiring candidates for open positions. They will also assist in creating job advertisements and attending local job fairs to attract talent. Training and supervising local staff, including phone screeners and administrative personnel, will be a key responsibility. The HR Manager will maintain the applicant tracking and onboarding system, conduct new hire orientations, and ensure that all security ID badges and customs seals are managed effectively. In addition to these responsibilities, the HR Manager will conduct investigations related to policy violations, respond to inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures, and act as a liaison between local business managers and the head office HR department. The role also involves monitoring OSHA compliance and ensuring that worker's compensation reports are documented accurately. The HR Manager will participate in local business manager meetings and conduct exit interviews as part of the employee lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of HR and Office Administrative tasks
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws and Corporate HR-related matters
  • Assist with recruiting, screening, interviewing, and hiring candidates
  • Create and place job advertisements and attend local job fairs
  • Train, schedule, coach, and supervise local phone screeners, admin staff, and recruiters
  • Grade and assess screening evaluations
  • Maintain applicant tracking and onboarding system
  • Conduct new hire orientation in absence of recruiter
  • Conduct background investigations and reference checks
  • Manage the issuance and termination of Security ID Badges and Customs Seals
  • Oversee the ordering and control of the uniform process
  • Conduct uniform audits to ensure adherence to grooming standards
  • Maintain employee personnel and medical files
  • Answer employment inquiries
  • Coordinate with Head Office regarding employment activities
  • Conduct investigations for policy violations including harassment and discrimination
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
  • Act as liaison with local Business Managers and Head Office HR Department
  • Monitor and upgrade Cross-Utilization List
  • Coordinate with Safety Manager to ensure OSHA compliance
  • Ensure Worker's Compensation Reports are properly documented and reported
  • Attend local Business Manager meetings and Town Hall Meetings
  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Perform any other assigned duties
