About The Position

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MIL) in the MANPOWER AND RESERVE AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT of HQ US MARINE CORPS. In this role, you will apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures, gather necessary records, data and information; determine, analyze and evaluate facts and perform administrative actions affecting inactive reserve Marines. You will coordinate inter-service transfer requests from all Marine Corps Reserve officers according to laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Additionally, you will review reserve promotion plans, precepts and convening MarAdmins and comment on compliance with law, regulation, policy and procedures. You will analyze records of thousands of Reserve officer and Staff Non Commissioned Officer promotion board cases prior to the promotion board convening to evaluate promotion eligibility. Furthermore, you will review, interpret, and analyze records and various documents regarding reserve officer and enlisted administrative separation or retirement cases.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's or equivalent graduate degree.
  • 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
  • LL.B. or J.D., if related.
