About the position

The Human Resources Specialist position at Edgewater Technical Associates is designed to support the Richland, WA office and national teams. This full-time role offers opportunities for professional development and growth within a DOE subcontractor environment. The ideal candidate will be organized, flexible, and proactive, with a strong desire to learn and support the team while managing confidential information and multitasking effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Onboarding of new staff including offer letters, background checks, drug screens, I-9 verification
  • Assist new hires with badging and site/client specific onboarding requirements
  • Management and tracking of our WSAP policy and random drug screens
  • Companywide HR initiatives
  • Local timesheet collection, review, and approval
  • Processing employee changes including promotions, annual salary increases, benefit changes and employee terminations
  • Benefit Carrier EDI feed administration and enrollment auditing as needed and as part of annual open enrollment
  • Record and database management
  • Assist employees with payroll or benefit problems or questions - liaison with payroll staff

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree, with a preference for a Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong technical skills with PC operating systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of attention to detail and quality work while multitasking

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Paylocity
  • Experience with Deltek/Costpoint
  • Experience administering company AAP and EEO reporting
  • Experience processing DOE clearances
