The Undersea Technology Analysis Portfolio (UTAP), within the Sea, Land, & Air Analysis Group in SPA, conducts rigorous and objective analyses to enable the Navy and other DoD organizations to make decisions, plans, and strategies to deliver emerging undersea technologies and warfighting capabilities. We support clients across the undersea and naval special warfare enterprises, including those within resourcing and requirements (OPNAV N97), acquisition (program offices for undersea technologies and naval special warfare), and science and technology (Office of Naval Research, DARPA). Our enduring capabilities include identifying capability gaps, developing requirements, and generating solutions; assessing the operational utility and technical feasibility of new technologies; execution of acquisition and technology development programs, including developing plans and roadmaps to mature, deliver, and sustain new technologies; analysis of vulnerabilities and threats to undersea platforms and systems; and quantitative analysis and modeling of undersea forces and their missions. SPA has a near term need for a Human Systems Integration Engineer for upcoming support to the Program Executive Office (PEO) for Unmanned and Small Combatants (USC), located at the Washington Navy Yard, DC. PEO USC, through affiliated program offices, designs, procures, and builds the Navy's unmanned surface and undersea systems delivering the capabilities needed to support a range of fleet operations at the best cost-efficient value. The portfolio includes a wide range of UxVs, including Unmanned Surface Vehicles/Vessels (USVs) and Unmanned Undersea Vehicles/Vessels (UUVs). UxVs and unmanned systems (UxSs) are expanding to multiple ship classes within the U.S. Navy fleet. This contract will support the design, engineering and implementation of UxSs across the U.S. Navy portfolio.
