The HVAC Equipment Applications Engineer at Johnson Controls Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the construction sales team by assisting with both pre-sales and post-sales activities related to building systems and HVAC equipment projects. This position involves technical support, project estimation, and ensuring customer satisfaction while managing project financials. Responsibilities

  • Support the construction sales team with pre and post sales activities on building systems and HVAC equipment project opportunities.
  • Assist with system configuration validation, HVAC equipment selection, application, and pricing during the pre-sales phase.
  • Provide technical support and limited estimating support to Account Executives during project design or proposal phases.
  • Develop detailed engineering information and submittals to communicate design, configuration, operating, and installation requirements to stakeholders.
  • Manage project Profit & Loss (P&L) for assigned projects, ensuring profitability and alignment with customer expectations.
  • Prepare customer proposal quote letters, including project takeoffs, specification reviews, and special quote generation.
  • Coordinate the factory equipment order process to ensure timely execution of HVAC equipment projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in HVAC systems and building systems applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with project management software.
  • Experience with estimating software and tools.
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards.
