About the position
The HVAC Installer at NRG is a vital role within our team, responsible for the installation of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment in residential new construction and retail settings. This position requires a commitment to quality and safety, ensuring that all installations meet company standards and manufacturer specifications. As part of a dedicated team, the HVAC Installer will work under general supervision, performing installations and testing systems to ensure they function correctly. The role involves identifying issues and executing necessary repairs to maintain compliance with safety and operational standards. In addition to installation duties, the HVAC Installer will be responsible for completing all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. This includes documenting the installation process and any issues encountered. The position may also involve fabricating and installing various ducts and duct fittings as needed. Safety is a top priority, and the HVAC Installer must adhere to all safety policies and procedures while on the job. The work environment primarily consists of occupied residential homes and construction sites, with minimal time spent in an office setting. The HVAC Installer will travel to various job sites, often working in diverse weather conditions and potentially hazardous environments. This role is essential in ensuring that our customers receive high-quality service and that their heating and cooling systems operate efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Install heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment according to company requirements and manufacturer specifications.
- Test systems to ensure proper functioning and identify any issues that require repair.
- Complete all paperwork in a neat, accurate, thorough, and timely manner.
- Perform start-up on air conditioning systems as needed.
- Fabricate and install various ducts and duct fittings as required.
- Follow safety policies and procedures during all installations and repairs.
- Maintain and clean work area upon completion of tasks.
- Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with customers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; experience may be substituted for education.
- Prior HVAC installation experience.
- Ability to read installation plans/documents.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Beginner computing skills and ability to use a computer, laptop, or tablet.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to work overtime with little notice; weekend hours may occasionally be required.
Nice-to-haves
- HVAC trade school certification.
- 1-2 years' experience in construction, HVAC, or related experience.
- EPA Certification.
