About the position

The HVAC Service Sales Manager position offers an exceptional opportunity to join a well-respected company in Brownsville, Texas, focusing on a variety of commercial projects. As the HVAC Service Sales Manager, you will be responsible for quoting projects and services to customers, generating sales leads for service agreements, and hiring technicians to build a strong team. Your ability to foster strong customer relationships will be crucial in driving the adoption of HVAC solutions and expanding the customer base. In this role, you will evaluate customer needs and provide tailored solutions and designs that meet their specific requirements. Building a loyal customer network is essential for achieving market penetration, and you will prepare proposals based on the technical specifications and requirements of various projects. Your experience in HVAC, controls, and industrial fabrication will be beneficial, particularly in a commercial context. You will also manage regional expenses, negotiate pricing with vendors and equipment suppliers, and inspect existing plumbing and HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance. Your responsibilities will include planning maintenance, repairs, or modifications to HVAC and refrigeration equipment, assigning tasks to appropriate staff, and analyzing work orders to prioritize repairs and maintenance. You will determine the necessary parts and materials for repairs and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local codes during installations and repairs. Collaboration with customers and other staff will be key in projecting future repair costs and equipment needs, assisting with the budgeting process. Additionally, you will maintain records of preventive maintenance performed on all major mechanical equipment and perform other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect the condition of existing plumbing and HVAC equipment; repairs or modifies as needed
  • Plan required maintenance, repairs, or modifications to plumbing, HVAC or refrigeration equipment; assign appropriate staff to required tasks
  • Analyze work orders to identify and prioritize needed repairs and maintenance; evaluate systems to identify causes of problems
  • Determine parts, materials, and other related supplies necessary for repairs, maintenance, or modifications; order or otherwise obtain needed supplies
  • Provide direction and assistance in the diagnosis and reporting of mechanical systems
  • Coordinate work among Plumbing, HVAC team and other trades, departments, project managers, or outside contractors
  • Monitor all work performed and assist as needed to complete complicated jobs or train staff on methods and procedures
  • Ensure that installations and repairs are performed and completed in accordance with all federal, state, and local codes
  • Work with suppliers and obtain cost estimates for repairs, replacements, and installation of plumbing and mechanical HVAC equipment; oversee and evaluate work performance
  • Collaborate with customers or other appropriate staff to project the cost of future repairs and equipment needs to assist with budget process
  • Maintain records of preventive maintenance performed on all major mechanical equipment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a sales or service HVAC operations role
  • Strong skillset in HVAC products, installation, and mechanical understanding
  • Strong understanding of HVAC functions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills and work ethic
  • Stable background/work history
  • A degree or college diploma in business, technical or management
  • Sales Book of Business & CRM experience is a plus
  • Valid Drivers License and clean driving record
  • Extensive multi-leveled experience with best practices, policies, and procedures in the HVAC field

  • Experience with HVAC, controls, industrial, fabrication - Commercial background a plus
