About the position
As an Independent Contract Vendor Loss Control Insurance Inspector with Pacific Inspections Inc, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality inspection services to the insurance industry. Our company, a family-held business with nearly 60 years of experience, prides itself on delivering outstanding customer service and superior support to our inspectors. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough inspections of properties, ensuring that all client requirements are met with precision and professionalism. The inspection process involves a detailed walk-through observation of properties, conducting interviews with the insured or contact person, and gathering necessary documentation, including photographs and diagrams of the buildings. You will be required to complete comprehensive loss control inspection reports using established protocols and procedures, ensuring that all findings are accurately documented and submitted within a 14-day timeframe via our online portal. This position offers flexibility in hours, allowing you to schedule inspections during regular business hours from Monday to Friday, with no fieldwork permitted on Sundays. Compensation is based on a flat rate per inspection, ranging from $45 to $75, with the potential for higher rates on a case-by-case basis for inspections outside your assigned area. This is not an hourly job, and you will be expected to manage your time effectively to meet client deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality in your work.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, comprehensive loss control inspection reports as requested by clients, using established protocols, procedures, and policies.
- Schedule and conduct field or office-based loss control underwriting inspection reports.
- Use the company website portal to retrieve assigned work, track status of assigned requests, upload photos, complete assigned inspection forms, and submit completed reports for review by Quality Assurance.
- Utilize a personal car, laptop, digital camera, high-speed internet, cell phone, and measuring wheel to conduct assigned inspections.
- Employ strong customer service skills to communicate with policyholders, agents, and appointed contacts to conduct and complete assigned inspections.
- Conduct Loss Control Surveys at the insured's locations to identify property and liability-related hazards and exposures.
- Write comprehensive reports utilizing existing templates to identify potential loss conditions, hazards, or concerns and make recommendations to mitigate the exposures identified in the field surveys.
- Build positive working relationships with all points of contact while conducting and completing all assigned inspection requests.

- Must carry professional liability insurance.
- Must have a FEIN to provide on W9.

- Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and inspection-related software when applicable.
