Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent with GED.
  • Previous medical office experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Windows file management and MS Office.
  • Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work productively and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Dependable.

  • Familiarity with insurance processes and pre-certification requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephones and greet patients courteously and efficiently.
  • Conduct patient check-in and check-out processes.
  • Obtain pre-patient registration, demographic, and insurance information, entering it into the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Collect co-payments at the time of service and manage daily cash receipts.
  • Register new patients in the RIS, ensuring all information is complete prior to scheduling.
  • Schedule patient tests and appointments.
  • Respond to instant messages related to patient insurance changes, copay questions, and coverage issues in a timely manner.
  • Complete pre-certification processes for diagnostic tests as required by insurance.
  • Review orders for accuracy of scan type, ordering physician, CPT codes, and special instructions.
  • Prepare the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for review by clinical staff and obtain necessary records prior to appointments.
  • Monitor and route inbound and outbound faxes, and open and distribute mail as required.
  • Electronically scan appropriate patient-related records into the RIS and distribute outbound correspondence as necessary.
