The Implementation Associate - Capital Excellence at McKinsey & Company plays a crucial role in supporting clients through the implementation of capital strategies and performance improvement initiatives. This position involves working closely with clients and team members to develop and sustain effective systems and processes that drive bottom-line results. The role requires a blend of project management, analytical skills, and the ability to coach clients in capital-intensive industries, ensuring that the benefits of McKinsey's recommendations are fully realized and maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Work in small teams to build strategies, capabilities, systems, and processes for clients.
  • Manage projects with minimal supervision, tracking metrics and handling complex analyses.
  • Prepare communications to report back to client and internal leadership.
  • Develop practical recommendations and contribute to team discussions on analysis implications.
  • Identify implementation challenges and provide expert guidance in capital strategy and portfolio optimization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in a high-performance capital projects environment.
  • Significant experience with mega capital excellence construction projects.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Field-based experience in oil and gas, mining, energy, or chemicals industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of continuous improvement programs like Lean/Six Sigma is desirable.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytics and strong interest in coaching clients.
  • Proven leadership record in work settings or extracurricular activities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and create an inclusive environment.
  • Effective communication skills in English and local office languages.
