About the position

The Senior Director, Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) Internal Engagement and Communications at Gilead is responsible for driving the company's I&D strategy, ensuring that Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) have a meaningful impact. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance the inclusivity of the workplace, develop training programs, and effectively communicate Gilead's I&D journey both internally and externally. The position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in I&D, capable of influencing senior leadership and fostering an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Refresh and execute a comprehensive ERG strategy in partnership with business leaders and Executive Sponsors.
  • Facilitate and drive agenda for ERG chair meetings, fostering collaboration across ERG leaders and members.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Executive Sponsors and the Gilead Leadership Team on I&D initiatives and best practices.
  • Co-develop and deliver an inclusive I&D learning journey for all employees.
  • Lead the content development for a dedicated Disability ERG page on the company's website.
  • Oversee the internal process for key awards related to I&D initiatives.
  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to measure and inform I&D efforts and evaluate ERG program effectiveness.

Requirements

  • 15 years of relevant work experience in Inclusion & Diversity, particularly in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Demonstrated intercultural experience and knowledge of I&D on a global level.
  • Utilization of data-driven approaches to develop insights and inform decision making.
  • Demonstrated understanding of strategic and operational drivers of business performance.
  • Experience in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders on I&D topics.
