About the position

The Systems Control Technician at Carestream Health Inc. is responsible for the electrical maintenance execution primarily in the areas of Instrumentation, Controls, and Electric distribution. This role involves troubleshooting and maintaining automated systems on the manufacturing floor, implementing preventive and predictive maintenance to enhance plant efficiency, and ensuring safety compliance. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including nights and weekends, to meet operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze electrical, mechanical, and process controls issues to identify root cause, implement corrective action and improve efficiency.
  • Have operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, industrial/electronic controls, and power transmission systems.
  • Install, program, and troubleshoot various PLC platforms, VFDs, and motion control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and install electrical control circuits based on electrical schematics.
  • Commit to working safely and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Willingness to work overtime and adjust work schedules to accommodate shutdown and other business needs, including working nights, weekends, and off-shifts.
  • Create, maintain, and document Preventative Maintenance procedures and processes.

Requirements

  • Journeyman or LME Oregon Electrical license.
  • PLC and motion control systems experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education, out of state certification, and related work experience will also be considered.
  • Must be able to work 40+, 6:30 PM to 7 AM rotating 365 days a year, including holidays if scheduled.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use trend data and process test equipment.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently: high initiative, self-directed and results-oriented.
  • Skills in teamwork and communication including leadership, problem solving, giving, and receiving feedback.
