About the position

As an Industrial Technician at our steel pipe manufacturing company in the Pensacola area, your primary responsibility will be to receive and interpret work instructions, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and specifications to perform a variety of maintenance tasks. This includes scheduled, emergency, and routine repairs, as well as calibrations and preventative maintenance. You will be expected to interpret drawings and sketches to determine the most effective work procedures and the tools necessary for troubleshooting and repairing equipment issues. Your role will involve repairing, rebuilding, and testing electrical components to ensure that all equipment operates efficiently and effectively, minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and interpret work instructions, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Perform scheduled, emergency, and routine repairs on electrical components.
  • Calibrate and conduct preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Interpret drawings and sketches to determine work procedures and tools needed for repairs.
  • Repair, rebuild, and test electrical components to ensure equipment functionality.
  • Maintain existing equipment (80% of the time) and upgrade equipment (20% of the time).
  • Diagnose problems and failures in various equipment, including presses and machines.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure ongoing functionality of tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • 5 years' experience in an Industrial Plant/Manufacturing Environment.
  • Experience working with AC and DC motors, transformers, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic controls, control panels, inverters, and motor drives.
  • Proficient in print reading, drawing interpretation, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of proper use of tools and measuring devices with a safe work mentality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot motor drives and diagnose equipment problems.
  • Experience with mechanical and hydraulic press systems and programmable controls.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
