About the position

The Informatica/ETL Developer role involves designing, developing, and implementing ETL workflows and processes using Informatica PowerCenter or Informatica Cloud. The position focuses on extracting data from various sources, transforming it according to business rules, and optimizing ETL processes for performance and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement ETL workflows and processes using Informatica PowerCenter or Informatica Cloud.
• Extract data from various sources such as relational databases, flat files, and web services.
• Transform data by applying business rules, cleaning data, joining datasets, and aggregating.
• Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability, and error handling.
• Analyze and troubleshoot ETL issues, including failures, data discrepancies, and performance problems.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for ETL processes, workflows, and mappings.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Informatica PowerCenter, Informatica Cloud, or other ETL tools.
• Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, MySQL) and advanced SQL querying.
• Expertise in integrating data from multiple heterogeneous sources (e.g., flat files, web services, databases).
• Knowledge of data transformation techniques (data cleansing, aggregation, merging, etc.).
• Ability to optimize ETL jobs for faster execution.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Unix shell, Python) for automation and customization.
• Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git, SVN) for managing code changes.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts (star/snowflake schema, OLTP/OLAP).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
