The Information Security Analyst plays a vital role in protecting the data of 1st Security Bank and its customers. A typical day as a 1st Security Bank Security Analyst could include providing security awareness training to employees and customers; uncovering vulnerabilities on the Bank's network; and responding to reported security incidents. The ideal candidate for this position should be detail-oriented, level-headed under pressure, and enjoy solving challenging problems. The candidate should have a general knowledge of Windows administration, networking, and information security concepts. Strong communication skills are needed for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist employees with verifying the legitimacy of Bank communications (emails, websites, and calls).
  • Perform vulnerability scans on the Banks network and coordinate the remediation of vulnerabilities with Bank IT Administrators.
  • Configure policies on the Banks email filter, endpoint protection, and web filter tools.
  • Assist in responding to and developing appropriate mitigation strategies for all IT audit, security assessment, and examination findings and recommendations then overseeing activities to ensure the IT Department is making satisfactory progress and meeting stated target dates.
  • Assist in performing Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery Plan updates and testing.
  • Assist the Information Security department with performing risk assessments for areas such as GLBA, Information Technology, and other areas as applicable.
  • Work with Core System Administrators and IT System Administrators in ensuring proper security controls for the organization are implemented and control review tasks are conducted for key areas including patch management, change management, and log review.
  • Partner with business units and the IT Department on various projects to ensure the Banks security goals are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain up to date procedure documentation in support of security administration tasks.
  • Work with Senior Management, employees, external accountants, auditors, and regulatory officials to accomplish work objectives and special projects.
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
  • Counsel employees who have incorrectly followed Bank security policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to satisfactory or better audits and examinations in the IT area.
  • Maintaining knowledge of Company and industry projects, services and trends affecting team activities including technology advances and compliance/regulatory trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Experience performing information security responsibilities at a financial institution or a firm serving financial institutions preferred.
  • Technical certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, and CISA or CISSP strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with evaluating the risk of third-party vendors and internal/external threats to enterprise networks.
