About the position

The Informatics Nurse serves as a clinical expert, educator, consultant, leader, and researcher for nursing information systems. This role is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, evaluation, and training of information system projects aimed at improving nursing and clinical processes. The Informatics Nurse acts as an internal consultant and resource for nursing, providers, and clinical personnel, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives and promoting technical innovations in clinical practices.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate information system projects to enhance nursing and clinical processes.
  • Provide education and direction for clinical and provider information initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate opportunities for technical innovations and enhancements in the facility.
  • Troubleshoot nursing and provider complaints and work towards timely resolutions.
  • Coordinate ongoing support and training for new employees on clinical applications.
  • Draft and update recommendations for changes in policies and procedures related to clinical applications.
  • Communicate pertinent information to employees using clinical applications to maximize effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships across organizational lines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Nursing from an accredited educational institution.
  • Minimum of five years of frontline nursing experience in diverse clinical settings.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' experience working with physician providers in a hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of all phases of the project development cycle and systems analysis techniques.
  • Ability to design, conduct, and evaluate systems testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Experience in clinical application systems and structured systems methodologies.
