Information Technology Compliance Officer

About the position

The University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for the position of Information Technology Compliance Officer. The Information Technology Compliance Officer reports to the Chief Information Security Officer. This position would serve as the responsible individual for all IT audits and oversee all regulatory areas where IT has significant impact or accountability while coordinating and finalizing all responses with the Senior Information Security Compliance Officer. In addition, the Officer would assist in providing support for any initiatives that help the University meet its obligations to governing agencies; this would include such things as security awareness training, rights management and tracking, sensitive device monitoring, security application processing, data management and classification. This role would also develop and maintain regulatory policies and procedural information for all areas of campus including, but not limited to PCI, FERPA, GLBA, and HIPAA; this also would include maintaining business continuity and incident response plans. This position would serve as a backup for the Senior Compliance Officer including ERP workflow approvals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the responsible individual for all IT audits.
• Oversee all regulatory areas where IT has significant impact or accountability.
• Coordinate and finalize all responses with the Senior Information Security Compliance Officer.
• Assist in providing support for initiatives to meet obligations to governing agencies.
• Develop and maintain regulatory policies and procedural information for campus areas.
• Maintain business continuity and incident response plans.
• Serve as a backup for the Senior Compliance Officer including ERP workflow approvals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of related work experience OR Master’s degree and one (1) year of related work experience.
• Experience in an Information Technology regulated environment.
• Familiarity with contracts, audits, or accounting.
• Familiarity with developing IT policies and procedures or related experience.
