This Project Manager position, as part of the ITS PMO, will lead new Information Technology and City project initiatives. Information Technology projects require project governance oversight to manage project risk and ensure adherence to scope, budget, schedule, and quality, to responsibly spend City taxpayer dollars and grants. This exciting and highly visible role will engage with multiple departments within the City of Phoenix to successfully deliver one or more projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing PMI best practices in the delivery of IT projects.
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders and technology professionals.
  • Preparing high-quality reports and presentations.
  • Managing project information accurately in a project portfolio management system.
  • Managing IT project budgets and resource plans.
  • Other responsibilities as requested by leadership.

Requirements

  • Three years of responsible experience in applications analysis project involving multiple computer subsystems, including project leader responsibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems or a related field.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Nice-to-haves

  • Five years of experience managing large IT projects.
  • Three years of experience in project budgeting.
  • Three years of experience using Microsoft Project.
  • Three years of experience managing vendors and/or vendor resources.
  • Experience using Jira or similar tools is a plus.
  • Current PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
