About The Position

The Louisville Metro Housing Authority is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to manage and enhance both internal and external websites. This role involves ensuring the functionality, accuracy, and security of web-related data while supporting user needs and IT-related tasks. Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in information technology, web development, or a closely related field.
  • Two to four years of experience in the computer field.
  • Knowledge of principles and best practices of web page and website design.
  • Knowledge of languages used in web development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of standard web strategies including client- and server-side processing.
  • Strong background in administering hybrid computing environments with Windows and Linux.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and take appropriate action.

  • Knowledge of WordPress
  • Experience using PostgreSQL and writing SQL for queries and data manipulation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains internal and external websites.
  • Coordinates the content, flow, and accessibility of information on websites.
  • Ensures web pages adhere to best practices and established policies.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to create an engaging user experience.
  • Oversees the technical development and implementation of page templates.
  • Reviews web content, links, and design; provides necessary updates.
  • Implements security measures such as firewalls and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Conducts user testing and use analysis to assess usability and effectiveness.
  • Drafts documents and implements backup, recovery, and business continuity plans.
  • Provides technical support for hardware and software issues.
  • Collaborates with team members to develop IT solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Documents processes and maintains accurate records of IT assets and configurations.
  • Trains staff on new technologies and best practices for IT usage.
