About The Position

The Infrastructure Engineering Consultant role involves engaging in moderately complex initiatives within Infrastructure Engineering, contributing to large-scale planning, and resolving technical challenges. The position requires collaboration with client personnel and a commitment to enhancing service partner satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions, or equivalent experience through work, consulting, training, military service, or education.
  • Working knowledge of SMP/E, zOS concepts including JCL, COBOL.
  • Experience in providing 2nd or 3rd level technical support for mainframe infrastructure software.
  • Strong skills in multiple areas, particularly CICS.
  • Ability to assist service partners in problem resolution and follow-up on unresolved issues.
  • Availability to provide 24x7 on-call coverage on a rotational basis and general problem resolution support.
  • Experience in configuring, designing, troubleshooting, and remediating complex environments.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with peer mainframe technical support teams, application development teams, and their lines of business.
  • Effective communication skills to identify needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions and strategies.
  • Commitment to increasing service partner satisfaction and deepening partner relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure solutions for business applications.
  • Participate in projects aimed at continually improving or upgrading the infrastructure.
  • Evaluate internal and external software solutions to meet target state architecture goals.
  • Review and analyze high-impact outages to ensure proper processes and procedures are in place to prevent future issues.
  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaboration with the team and third-party vendors.
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document programs using Agile development practices.
  • Make decisions on technical designs, implementation plans, and identify project risks and resource requirements.
  • Direct daily risk and control operations, focusing on policies, procedures, and work standards to ensure success.
  • Recommend actions to maintain cost-effectiveness and achieve results.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • Interact with customers and vendors.
