About the position

CLS Health is a growing healthcare system in Houston, Texas that is taking a different approach to healthcare. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate part-time Infusion Nurse to join our CLS Health clinic in the Woodlands. The Infusion Nurse will be responsible for administering intravenous (IV) therapies, medications, blood products, and other infusions to patients in a safe, efficient, and caring manner. This position requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiently and independently assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents the daily care of assigned patients
  • Proficiently executes physician's orders for all assigned patients
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, creativity, and versatility in problem solving and handling complex situations
  • Monitor fluid tubes, check infusions and make sure that medications implemented are not counteracting each other or causing a patient harm
  • Perform venipuncture, accessed implanted ports, maintained peripheral IV lines
  • Administer medication. This included mixing medications and inserting IVs while maintaining safe environment
  • Safely administer blood and blood products
  • Assesses patient progress, collaborating with other nursing staff when needed, in accordance with the nursing process and established plan of care
  • Perform infusions and monitoring of patient's status throughout entire infusion as well as managed emergency reactions
  • Effectively communicates with medical, clinical and clerical staff to ensure the efficient operations of the clinic
  • Effectively communicates with patients and visitors to resolve inquiries
  • Assures proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, state and federal laws
  • May travel to other CLS clinics as needed
  • Performs related duties as required

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with current Texas licensure
  • B.S.N. Preferred
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of clinical experience with one (1) year experience in a home health agency, preferred
  • Understands regulatory compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Adhere to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality
