Put your experience in Electrical Engineering to work as a Keysight Inside Application Engineer (IAE) in the dynamic and challenging environment of Keysight's Technical Contact Center located in beautiful Colorado. We are in our new state-of-the-art facility in Colorado Springs, CO. Application Engineers deliver post-sales and pre-sales technical support related to instruments and solutions. Expertise includes measurement automation for solution implementations to our customers based on Keysight products and services. They're focused on all phases of both post- and pre-sales processes including requirements analysis; feature-by-feature comparisons and demonstrations; benchmarks; equipment operation - troubleshooting/debugging issues - implementation/execution of test automation; and partnering with project and engineering services. They understand customers' pre- and post-sales problems, recommend solutions to meet their needs, and ensure exemplary customer satisfaction. The inside applications engineer facilitates integrating Keysight products and services (at the system/solutions level) into the customer's environment and ensures the products function per specifications. The Keysight Inside Application Engineer may be product or technology-focused and may deliver customer training classes and consulting related to the application, as well as assist in pre-sales activities to help grow Keysight's business. They work on system/application engineering assignments with clearly defined objectives and solve problems of limited scope and complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Enable our customers to utilize our Spectrum Analyzer solutions to their fullest capability.
  • Debug and duplicate customer issues.
  • Gain insights from customers and bring back requirements for product enhancements or fixes to Keysight marketing and R&D teams.
  • Leverage solution expertise to discuss technical needs and challenges with customers.
  • Clear written and verbal communications; able to explain technical subjects over the phone and through email.
  • Creation and publication of internal and external customer-facing knowledge base articles.
  • Customer service skills, including soft skills, and empathy for customer issues.
  • Train customers either remotely or face to face on the latest Spectrum Analyzer solutions.
  • Independent learner who can stay up to date on products and technologies they are assigned.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently in assisting multiple customers every day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree or University Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in application engineering or relevant experience in at least one of the following related fields: Wireless Devices Test, RF/Microwave, RF Systems, Radar systems, 5G-NR and RFIC.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge and job experience and ability to work independently.
  • Technical support of customers in the Americas (US, Canada, Mexico, Latin America).
  • Requires in-depth knowledge and job experience in RF & microwave as relates to cellular, wireless and aerospace/defense systems.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of microwaves, microwave devices, systems and measurements.
  • Hands on experience using Spectrum (Signal) Analyzers, Fieldfox Handheld Spectrum Analyzers, and Signal Generators (Signal Sources), Software applications such as VSA (Vector Signal Analysis), X-Series Measurement Applications (X-Apps), as well as Signal Studio.
  • Aerospace/Defense and Electronic Warfare (ITAR) background a plus.
  • Excellent communications skills and strong interaction skills with customers and colleagues.
  • Must work well in a team environment and be self-motivated.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of microwaves, microwave devices, microwave systems, and measurements as well as microwave test accessories.
  • Software or test automation skills that may include Python, .NET, LabView, Keysight VEE, C#, C++, VB, Excel, Automated Test Systems (ATE), etc.
