About the position

The Inside Sales Representative at Eagle Fence Distributing LLC is responsible for selling a wide range of fencing products while providing exceptional customer service. This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with customers to ensure the growth and profitability of the Houston branch. The representative will be expected to respond promptly to customer inquiries, manage product information, and maintain call and lead lists to enhance sales activities. Cold calling is a significant part of the job, as is providing product quotes independently to foster growth. The representative will also manage orders to ensure customer expectations are met and work closely with branch management to optimize loading and delivery methods. Additionally, the role requires participation in sales meetings and collaboration with other team members to address customer inquiries and improve customer satisfaction. The representative will be responsible for increasing customer retention and growing the number of accounts in their assigned region, as well as selling excess inventory when possible. Regular travel, including overnight trips, is required to attend industry trade shows and meet customers at their locations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge of the products distributed by Eagle Fence Distributing LLC.
  • Ensure timely response to customer inquiries.
  • Maintain product information and prices, call lists, and lead lists to enhance sales activities based on current information.
  • Maintain relationships with existing customers and develop relationships with new customers.
  • Cold calling will be required.
  • Provide product quotes with pricing and availability independently to foster growth and profitability.
  • Perform order management to ensure customer expectations are communicated and delivery schedules are met.
  • Work with branch management teams to choose efficient loading and packaging techniques and delivery methods to minimize waste and fulfill the needs of the customer.
  • Assist other sales team members as necessary by answering customer inquiries for other members of the sales team.
  • Attend all department sales meetings, as scheduled, and participate in other activities as requested.
  • Understand and report on industry and market competition and assist in regular review of inventory levels.
  • Assist in sales forecast activities and strive to meet sales objectives.
  • Responsible for growing the number of accounts in your assigned region.
  • Responsible for increasing customer retention.
  • Sell excess or secondary inventory items through established customer contacts and sales techniques to reduce product waste and unsatisfactorily high inventory levels.
  • Troubleshoot with internal cross-functional teams to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products, and able to learn proprietary programs for daily housekeeping items, proposals, and presentations.
  • Travel to attend and promote Eagle Fence Distributing at industry trade shows and to meet new and existing customers.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Sales experience with a track record of success.
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the fence industry is a plus but not required.
  • Willingness to attend and participate in informational seminars and learning-based meetings.
