About the position
The Instructional Aide position at Fair Oaks Elementary is designed to support the Transitional Kindergarten Teacher in delivering effective educational experiences to young learners. This role is crucial in fostering a nurturing and engaging environment where children can thrive academically and socially. The Instructional Aide will assist in various classroom activities, including preparing instructional materials, supervising students during lessons, and providing one-on-one support to children who may need additional help. The position is part-time, requiring approximately 3.5 hours of work each day, and is set for the 2024/2025 school year. The Aide will work closely with the teacher to implement lesson plans and ensure that all students are actively participating in their learning process. This role is not only about assisting with academic tasks but also involves building relationships with students to encourage their growth and development. In addition to classroom support, the Instructional Aide will be responsible for maintaining a safe and organized learning environment. This includes managing classroom behavior, ensuring that students are engaged and focused, and helping to create a positive atmosphere conducive to learning. The Aide may also assist in communicating with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities, fostering a collaborative approach to education. Overall, this position is vital in supporting the educational mission of Fair Oaks Elementary and ensuring that all students receive the attention and resources they need to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Transitional Kindergarten Teacher in delivering instructional activities.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Copy of AA Degree, transcripts showing proof of 48 units, or Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate is required.
- Two current signed and dated Letters of Recommendations are required.
- A Letter of Interest/Introduction is required.
- Resume is required.
