The Instructional Designer at Chesterfield County Public Schools plays a vital role in enhancing student achievement by collaborating with teachers and administrators. This position focuses on developing engaging instructional experiences, supporting teachers in assessment practices, and integrating technology into the curriculum. The Instructional Designer also leads professional learning opportunities to improve instructional impact across the district.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of the School Innovation and Improvement Plan (SIIP).
• Collaborate with the school administrative team to enhance student learning through technology.
• Engage with teachers in analyzing student performance data to inform instructional decisions.
• Implement a teacher coaching model that includes planning, modeling, and reflecting.
• Build teacher capacity through learning walks, modeling lessons, and providing feedback.
• Integrate technology into instruction through professional development for school staff.
• Maintain communication between schools and the Division of Teaching and Learning regarding instructional practices.
• Collaborate with content specialists to identify curricular deficiencies and effective strategies.
• Plan and implement district-wide professional learning training and events with other Instructional Designers.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid Virginia teaching license.
• Minimum of two years of successful teaching experience.
• Considerable knowledge of instructional methodologies and best practices in K-12 education.
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver instruction to various educational personnel.
• Knowledge of PC hardware, software, and web-based applications, including G-Suite applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
