About the position

The Instructional Designer II at H-E-B plays a crucial role in the Talent Development Team, focusing on the design and development of both technical and non-technical training materials. This position requires collaboration with Business Leaders and subject matter experts to create engaging learning solutions tailored to the needs of various audiences. The role emphasizes innovative design methods and a commitment to quality and customer service, contributing to H-E-B's mission of being a leading omnichannel retailing company.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop personalized learning experiences that meet target audience needs and achieve business results.
  • Create and modify training solutions, including digital, video, paper-based, on-the-job, classroom training, and knowledge assessments.
  • Facilitate needs analysis to identify business objectives and understand target audience.
  • Align cross-functional project teams and resources to meet project and business goals.
  • Develop and execute project plans, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule expectations are met.
  • Leverage appropriate measurement and evaluation strategies for training effectiveness.
  • Consult on development tools and processes to foster innovation and efficiency.
  • Analyze characteristics and benefits of existing and emerging technologies for learning.
  • Participate in and facilitate internal skill-building sessions.
  • Stay current on modern learning modalities, best practices, and emerging technology.
  • Conduct train-the-trainer sessions and facilitate instructor-led/virtual environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional technology, education, or a related field, or comparable experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in curriculum and course design.
  • Fluency in ADDIE instructional design methodology and practical application.
  • Proficiency in development tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Articulate 360, Vyond, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with project management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
