About the position

The Instructional Designer Intern position at OUC offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in instructional design within the utility sector. The intern will assist in creating engaging e-learning materials and collaborate with subject matter experts to develop content that enhances training programs. This role is designed for individuals pursuing a degree in instructional design or related fields, providing a platform to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the design and development of instructional materials, including e-learning modules and training manuals.
• Collaborating with subject matter experts to gather, analyze, and develop content related to software applications and work processes.
• Applying instructional design theories, practices, and methods to create engaging e-learning experiences and compelling course content.
• Developing multimedia elements, including videos, interactive simulations, voice-over scripts, and quizzes to enhance learning.
• Supporting the implementation of training programs and workshops.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in a degree-seeking program.
• Academic status of Junior.
• Program of study: Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or related field.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to commit to a full-time schedule between May 19, 2025, through August 15, 2025.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Camtasia Studio).
• Basic understanding of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
• Familiarity with adult learning, e-learning, and technical training principles and techniques.
