About the position

The Instructional Designer at Carollo Engineers will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing in-house training programs to support the company's growth in the environmental engineering sector. This position involves collaborating with Subject Matter Experts and Learning & Development professionals to create engaging training content that aligns with adult learning principles and instructional best practices. The role requires managing multiple projects, facilitating needs assessments, and continuously improving training materials to ensure effective knowledge retention and application.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Subject Matter Experts and L&D professionals to design and develop comprehensive in-house training programs.
• Assist in facilitating needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps and determine learning objectives.
• Utilize a variety of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE) to create innovative and engaging training content, including e-learning modules, instructor-led sessions, job aids, and blended learning experiences.
• Create training materials that incorporate adult learning principles and instructional best practices to enhance knowledge retention and application and achieve learning objectives.
• Continuously improve training programs by incorporating feedback, keeping content up-to-date, and integrating new technologies or learning methodologies.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and Subject Matter Experts to gather information and verify content accuracy.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Provide input on curriculum design, course development, and content organization.
• Other duties as assigned by Learning and Development Lead.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in instructional design or developing training content.
• Demonstrated experience working with SMEs to develop effective training programs.
• Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Strong creative skills related to generating learning content including: copy-writing, editing, graphic design, video production and editing, sound editing.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Office.
• Knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional design models, and best practices.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Adobe Creative suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Audition, Premiere.
• Certification in instructional design or a related area.
• Familiarity with gamification, microlearning, and other innovative training methods.
