About the position

The position involves working closely within the ITS team and collaborating with academic stakeholders to implement prioritized course development plans, ensuring their technological effectiveness and success within the University environment. The role contributes to instructional technology design projects that support existing online programs, new online programs, and the development of other special projects. Responsibilities include consulting with team members and university faculty on needs assessment, course technology redesign, project management, and implementation of evaluation procedures to assess the effectiveness of technologies and techniques in the teaching and learning process and individual academic units.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with academic stakeholders to implement prioritized course development plans.
  • Contribute to instructional technology design projects for online programs and special projects.
  • Consult with team members and university faculty on needs assessment and course technology redesign.
  • Manage projects and implement evaluation procedures to assess technology effectiveness.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field such as Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Educational Media, Instructional Systems Design, Educational Psychology, or Communications.
  • Experience in curriculum development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and establish collegial relationships with faculty and staff.
  • Strong customer service skills and demonstrated strong ethics.
  • A valid driver's license and safe driving history.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in designing and developing complete distance education courses using distributed/distance technologies.
  • Experience with the Blackboard Learn LMS and BB Ultra Experience.
  • Experience with large-course redesign and blended learning approaches.
  • Deep understanding of usability and accessibility considerations in instructional design.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies related to online and campus-based teaching and learning.
