About the position

The Instructional Designer at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) is responsible for managing multiple projects related to the design, production, and testing of new courses, course revisions, and faculty/staff training. This role involves collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders to create course materials that adhere to instructional design principles and the college's brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects including design, production, and testing of new courses and course revisions.
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify learning outcomes and assess instructional relevance of materials.
• Design learning activities and assessments aligned with learning outcomes.
• Assist SMEs with best practices for designing online courses.
• Create and modify graphical elements for learning objects using Adobe CC and other relevant platforms.
• Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Content Management Systems (CMS) for course development.
• Conduct assessments of student learning and course quality.
• Create multimedia learning objects as needed.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in instructional design methodologies as a Course Designer, Instructional Designer, or similar role.
• At least 1 year of experience working with Subject Matter Experts to design online courses.
• At least 1 year of experience in Learning Management or Content Management systems.
• At least 1 year of experience using Adobe CC or similar platforms for graphical elements.
• Experience in assessing student learning and course-level assessment.
• Excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience creating multimedia learning objects.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Suite.
• Familiarity with project management tools like Kanbanchi or Asana.
