About the position

A. Harold and Associates, LLC (AHA) is seeking an experienced Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to support two critical phases of implementation: Train the Trainer (T3) and Pilot. The ISD will play a pivotal role in facilitating these events, ensuring that all redline corrections are accurately implemented and that the training products developed are instructionally sound. This position requires full-time, in-office support at the Dam Neck, VA location and necessitates a current SECRET security clearance. The role is contingent upon contract award and demands a high level of expertise in cognitive task analysis to support AHA's training contract initiatives. The ISD will utilize the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) End to End (E2E) Process, which includes direct experience with Job Duty Task Analysis (JDTA) data and the Authoring Instructional Materials/Content Planning Module/Learning Object Module (AIM CPM/LOM). The successful candidate will assist the project manager in establishing the contract schedule, lead T3 events by instructing trainers on the new course functionalities, and coordinate the collection of redline corrections during both T3 and Pilot events. The ISD will also ensure that all corrections are implemented correctly and on schedule, while collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to validate the technical accuracy of all course materials. In addition to leading the T3 and Pilot events, the ISD will analyze and evaluate learning objectives, review all courseware for instructional soundness, and perform other duties as assigned. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and possesses exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a strong emphasis on grammar and quality assurance capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project manager with establishing contract schedule
  • Lead T3 event, instructing trainers on the new course and how it functions
  • Coordinate collection of redline corrections during T3
  • Ensure T3 redline corrections are correctly implemented while staying on schedule
  • Coordinate with SMEs to validate technical accuracy of all redline corrections
  • Analyze and evaluate learning objectives
  • Participate in Pilot event
  • Coordinate collection of redline corrections during Pilot
  • Ensure Pilot redline corrections are correctly implemented while staying on schedule
  • Review all courseware for instructional soundness
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Systems Design or related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience on a detailed US Navy/NETC E2E instructional design effort for Navy
  • Experience with data input and modules within U.S. Navy/NETC GOTS curriculum development tool CPM including Course Control documents, Instructional Media Design Package (IMDP), Course Training Task List (CTTL), Training Course Control Document (TCCD), etc.
  • Experience with data input and output products in LOM including Instructor Guide (IG), Trainee Guide (TG), Assignment Sheets, Job Sheets, etc.
  • Instructor Led Training (ILT) and Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) design/development experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Proficiency in Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) courseware development tools like Adobe Captivate and Creative Cloud software suite
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and concise
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on grammar, editing, quality assurance capabilities

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience leading/participating in T3 and Pilot events, including post-event red-line update/revision to AIM CPM/LOM curriculum control documents and products, and IMI authoring tool
  • Experience leading a detailed instructional analysis effort
  • Experience utilizing the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate (ADDIE) process in support of training programs
  • Working knowledge of the current US Navy/NETC E2E process and Technical Training organization and ratings
