About the position

As an Instructional Systems Designer at Booz Allen, you will play a pivotal role in developing training solutions that are essential for transforming national security. Your primary responsibility will be to create digital learning solutions that effectively convey critical information, ensuring that the education provided meets the specific needs of our customers. This position requires a deep understanding of instructional design methodologies, particularly the ADDIE model, to construct training materials and performance support tools that place the learner at the center of the experience. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify training needs and recommend appropriate learning solutions that align with their missions. Your creativity and technical skills will be crucial as you design engaging and interactive learning experiences, utilizing cutting-edge multimedia technologies and strategies such as gamification. Communication will be key, as you will regularly meet with SMEs to discuss learning materials, gather feedback, and make necessary adjustments to ensure the training is effective. To measure the success of your training solutions, you will employ evaluation methodologies like the Kirkpatrick Model, allowing you to collect and analyze results, and refine your training programs for maximum impact. As part of a team dedicated to improving national security through learner-centered instructional design, you will have opportunities to grow your skills and learn new tools that enhance the learning experience for students.

Responsibilities

  • Develop instructor-led, self-paced, and e-learning courses using defined instructional design methodologies.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to capture training needs and recommend appropriate learning solutions.
  • Design training materials and performance support tools following the ADDIE model.
  • Utilize multimedia technologies and gamification strategies to create engaging learning experiences.
  • Collect and analyze results using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model to assess training effectiveness.
  • Incorporate feedback from SMEs to refine training materials and ensure alignment with learning objectives.
  • Support the implementation and launch of training programs, evaluating their success and making necessary improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in developing instructor-led, self-paced, and e-learning courses using defined instructional design methodologies.
  • 5+ years of experience with learning analytics and data gathering techniques.
  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design and andragogy.
  • Experience using graphics and visuals to supplement learning.
  • Ability to engage and communicate respectfully with clients.
  • Knowledge of eLearning development tools.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMSs).
  • Experience with Articulate Storyline for eLearning and video design, and in PowerPoint.
  • Excellent QA/QC skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent change management and change communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or Education.
