The Instructional Systems Specialist will play a crucial role in the Education and Training of the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery within the Department of the Navy. This position involves applying subject matter expertise to the creation and revision of education and training policies, overseeing course catalogs and Learning Management Systems (LMS), and formulating recommendations to support Navy Medicine goals. The specialist will assess education and training requests to leverage technological advancements and innovations for optimal outcomes.

  • Apply subject matter expertise to education and training policy creation and revision.
  • Oversee education and training course catalog and Learning Management Systems (LMS) to monitor enterprise use and attainment of learning objectives.
  • Formulate recommendations for education and training strategy to support Navy Medicine goals linked to Commander's Guidance.
  • Assess education and training requests to determine opportunities to capitalize on advances in technology and innovation.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Experience overseeing education and training program administration, management, evaluation, and documentation.
  • Experience preparing executive level documents.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience formulating subject matter expertise to education and training policy creation and revision.
  • Experience utilizing overseas education and training course catalog and learning management system enterprise-wide use and linkage to reporting systems.
  • Experience formulating recommendations for education and training strategy to support Navy Medicine goals.
  • Experience assessing education and training requests to determine opportunities to capitalize on advances in technology and innovation.
  • Experience preparing correspondence, briefings, and reports and providing presentations as directed.
