About The Position

The Instructor of Cardiovascular Interventional Technology at Hudson Valley Community College is a full-time, probationary position set to begin in Fall 2025. The role involves teaching and developing curriculum for the cardiovascular intervention program, providing academic advisement, and maintaining clinical education effectiveness. The instructor will collaborate with various departments to ensure program success and uphold educational standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an allied health field or other discipline relevant to the program.
  • Possess a credential in the field of cardiovascular intervention by the ARRT, RCIS (or national equivalent).
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the field, either as a practicing technologist or as an instructor in CVT, or a combination of both, within the past ten years.
  • Experience in curriculum and/or program development.
  • Post-secondary teaching experience in cardiovascular intervention or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with student academic advisement at a post-secondary institution.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain current knowledge of professional specialty and educational methodology through continuing professional development.
  • Formulate and adhere to program entrance requirements.
  • Collaborate with the college admissions office for the acceptance of students in the program.
  • Develop course outlines according to college policy incorporating content specified by the ASRT.
  • Provide academic advisements for students enrolled.
  • Assign students to clinical rotations.
  • Evaluate clinical education effectiveness through regular site visits to clinical education centers and student competency assessments.
  • Instruct courses associated with the program in accordance with college policies.
  • Facilitate/attend annual Advisory Board and clinical educators meetings.
  • Research potential clinical education sites.
  • Maintain programmatic outcomes and assessment data.
