About the position

The Instructor Pilot for AH-64D/E provides advanced flight instruction to student pilots, including both U.S. Army and multinational students, at Fort Rucker, Alabama. This role involves conducting training in various flight conditions and includes responsibilities such as performance evaluations, briefings, and check rides. The position requires flexibility in working hours, including early morning and late-night shifts, to accommodate the training schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs and evaluates students in classroom, flight, and simulator training.
  • Conducts pre-flight and in-flight briefings, and post-flight After Action Reviews.
  • Conducts end of stage check rides.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate required; Associate or Bachelor Degree desired.
  • Graduate of the U.S. Army AH-64D/E Instructor Pilot and Methods of Instruction course.
  • 5+ years as an aviator required with last AH-64D/E flight within the last 12 months.
  • Minimum of 1000 hours as pilot in the AH-64D/E.
  • Minimum of 250 hours as Instructor Pilot in the AH-64D/E.
  • Fundamentally computer literate, including word processing and database input.
  • Ability to support periodic travel.
  • Familiarity with the operation of a military flight training base.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with multinational training environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of aviation safety protocols.
