About the position

The Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer 2 is a junior level position within the Engineering & Development Services group at Black & Veatch. This role involves working on various projects across sectors such as power generation, renewables, water treatment, and oil and gas. The engineer will perform routine engineering tasks under supervision, applying basic engineering principles and contributing to the preparation of engineering deliverables. The position emphasizes collaboration with project teams and understanding client needs while adhering to project scope, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities

• Function in an engineer capacity under supervision, applying design guides, standards, and engineering codes.
• Contribute to the preparation of engineering deliverables such as Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), reports, and specifications.
• Conduct routine research and analysis to develop recommendations for instrumentation and equipment selection.
• Understand and adhere to project scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with project teams by sharing information and design decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.
