About the position

The Insurance Accounts Receivable role at ENTAA Care, part of Johns Hopkins Regional Physicians, LLC, is a billing staff position focused on the accurate processing of insurance claims and related duties. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that claims are processed efficiently and that patients receive the necessary support regarding their accounts.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process insurance claims, including Medicaid/Medicare claims.
• Issue refunds when appropriate.
• Collect and enter patient's insurance information into the database when necessary.
• Process insurance correspondence, signatures, and insurance forms.
• Follow up with insurance companies to ensure claims are paid according to contracted fee schedules.
• Respond to telephone calls from patients regarding account information.
• Train new personnel in the practice.
• Provide cross coverage as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years of insurance billing experience in a healthcare organization.
• Prior knowledge of medical billing/collections practices, basic CPT coding, ICD-10 concepts, and medical terminology.
• Familiarity with insurance industry contracts, policies, and appeal processes.
• Capacity to type 40 words per minute.
• Ability to read and understand EOB remittance.
