About the position

As an Account Manager at McGriff, a division of Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), you will be part of an award-winning, inclusive workplace culture that values extraordinary people. This role involves building and maintaining key client and carrier relationships, assisting clients with service questions, and seeking cross-sell opportunities. You will work closely with Producers and Marketing Account Executives to manage the renewal process and lead the marketing of accounts. Additionally, you will mentor team members and stay updated on new products and legislative changes.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain key client and carrier relationships by phone, email, and in person.
  • Assist assigned clients and staff with service questions related to administration, billing, claims issues, and problem solving, upon request.
  • Continually seek cross-sell opportunities and suggest new lines of coverage.
  • Work with Producer and/or Marketing Account Executive to monitor and manage the renewal process for assigned clients.
  • Coordinate meetings with clients and/or Producers to present the renewal and supporting documents.
  • Lead the marketing of accounts as requested by Producer and/or Marketing Account Executive.
  • Prepare marketing information or provide required information to a marketing person.
  • Complete the implementation process; prepare and deliver all applicable forms to clients.
  • Formulate a plan with Producer to conduct relationship management meetings and/or visits with assigned clients.
  • Proficient in the client management system(s) to update policies, log activities, and manage follow-ups.
  • Attend seminars, classes, and carrier meetings to keep abreast of new products and legislative changes.
  • Mentor team members.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training.
  • Five years of relevant insurance industry experience.
  • Appropriate insurance license(s).
  • Strong client relation skills to build and maintain positive business relationships with clients and market contacts.
  • Excellent communication skills and service orientation.
  • Ability to utilize leadership skills by providing direction, constructive feedback, development, and training.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel, occasionally overnight.

Nice-to-haves
