About the position

The Intake Legal Assistant position is a client-dedicated role that provides essential support to the legal department of a client organization. This role is based in either Memphis, TN or Pittsburgh, PA, and requires the candidate to be on-site, as there is no relocation assistance available. The target salary for this position is $60,000, with an additional 5% bonus based on performance. As an Intake Legal Assistant, you will work closely with a team of attorneys and paralegals, delivering world-class support across multiple litigation and legal matters. Your responsibilities will include interacting with in-house counsel and paralegals to schedule meetings, manage calendars, coordinate travel, and provide general office support. In this role, you will foster a collaborative environment characterized by a can-do attitude and a commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and compassion. You will also be process-oriented, striving for efficiency in all tasks. The position requires a proactive approach to managing and prioritizing deliverables, especially in a dynamic environment with aggressive timelines. Additionally, you will support other team members by providing training and education to encourage best practices and high-quality service. Responsibilities

  • Work at the direction of Attorneys and Paralegals
  • Responsible for legal mail intake
  • Log incoming legal mail and route it correctly
  • Provide general office support
  • Support other team members with training and education to encourage best practices and high-quality service

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, not required
  • 2+ years hands-on experience working with legal departments or in litigation, including admin support
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Strong technical aptitude and interest
  • Ability to work independently and proactively to meet aggressive timelines
  • Sound business judgment and ability to handle multiple wide-ranging matters
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues quickly
  • Ability to foster and facilitate teamwork by cultivating relationships
  • Customer service oriented and responsive
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking skills
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information
